1. When you think about your current audience, how would you describe it?
*
I already have a large platform (10k+ followers, national speaking, or wide reach).
I have some visibility (a few thousand followers, small but steady reach).
My following is small, or I’m just getting started.
2. What matters most as you think about publishing your book?
*
Prestige and credibility, even if I lose creative freedom, control, and have to wait longer for my book to be published.
Professional support, even if it comes with a high cost and less autonomy.
Stewarding my story with full ownership and creative freedom, at a cost I can faithfully manage.
3. When do you hope to see your book in readers' hands?
*
I'm not in any hurry and am willing to wait 2-4 years if it means getting picked up by a reputable publisher.
Within 12-18 months, with professional support throughout the process.
Within 6-12 months, so I can start impacting lives with my message as soon as possible.
4. How much are you comfortable investing in your book?
*
I don't want to pay anything to publish my book. I want to get paid to write my book.
$5,000–$25,000 feels doable to hire a team of experts.
I need to invest as little as possible right now, while still publishing professionally.
5. How do you feel about navigating technical tasks?
*
Honestly, I’d rather not touch the technology side at all.
I can do some things, but I prefer help with most of the technology.
I enjoy learning new systems, but I will hire experts to do the things I don’t do well.
6. What do you worry about most in this process?
*
That I’ll spend years waiting, pitching, and hoping for a ‘yes,’ only to feel like the doors never open.
That I’ll invest a significant amount of money, but the editing, design, or support won’t match the quality I was promised.
That I don’t know how to find the help I need to publish my book.
7. Which feels most aligned with your calling?
*
I’m okay with giving up control for status and reputation.
I’d share control if it came with shared support and expertise.
I want to keep my rights, my royalties, and my voice, while getting the expert help I need.
8. Would you be open to learning a simple, step-by-step way to publish affordably?
*
No, I’d rather hand it all off.
Maybe, if it feels clear and doable.
Yes, definitely.
9. How would you handle rejection in your publishing journey?
*
Rejection doesn’t keep me down. I'd keep working until I found my 'yes'.
I want to work with a company that willingly accepts my manuscript and appreciates my message.
I'd move forward confidently, knowing God called me to write regardless of gatekeepers' opinions.
10. How will you measure whether your book publishing journey was successful?
*
I want awards, reviews in major publications, and premium bookstore placement.
Professional production quality combined with moderate sales and recognition.
Reaching the readers God intended, maintaining creative control, and building my platform authentically.
